The chapel of Saint Marina is located to the north of the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and belongs to the type of single-aisled wooden-roofed church, which is characteristic of the Troodos mountain range.
It dates back to approximately the 13th century, as evidenced by remnants of painted "coats of arms" found nailed to the "keel" of the roof.
Although its frescoes have not been preserved, the icon of Saint Marina with scenes from her life, a 13th-century work, along with the icon of the Dormition of the Theotokos, are on display at the Byzantine Museum of the Makarios Foundation in Nicosia. Also, icons of Christ, the Virgin Mary, and Saint Marina from the same chapel, dating to the 18th century, are displayed at the Byzantine Museum of Pedoulas.
Saint Marina, who is particularly revered, was a Christian martyr who lived during the reign of the Roman Emperor Diocletian and suffered martyrdom for her Christian faith.
The chapel celebrates its feast day every year on July 17th.
