The Holy Church of Proodou of the Holy Cross is located serves as the central religious landmark of the community.
Built in 1935, the church impresses with its architecture, its imposing dome, and towering bell towers. The interior is beautifully adorned with a wooden iconostasis and icons that cover various historical periods and artistic styles. In the center of the church stands a cross containing a fragment of the Holy Cross, which is covered with a silver-gilt casing from the 17th century, featuring scenes from the Divine Passion, as well as a silver casing from the 19th century with an image of the Crucified Christ.
The church is also significant for local tradition, as it is believed that the Holy Cross was brought from Constantinople, along with the feast of Proodou of the Holy Cross, which is celebrated on the 1st of August. During this celebration, the silver-gilt Cross is carried through the narrow streets of the village, while the area is filled with vacationers and visitors who come to take part in the religious events.
The interior of the church is decorated with 20th-century murals, the most important of which is that of the Platytera, created in 1959 by Solomontas Fragullidis. The dome and drum of the church were painted by the monk Kallinikos Stavrouvoniotis, while the rest of the church was iconographed by the monk Ignatios in the 1980s.
